Borage (Borago officinalis) 2g, ~90 seeds

875 Ft

Borage(Borago officinalis) is a cucumber-scented, hairy-looking annual plant from the Mediterranean. One of the best pollinator flowers in Europe, it attracts all insect groups. Research has shown that its nectar can be replenished in 5 minutes, providing an almost constant supply for hungry little pollinators, which is why it is so popular around borer branches. It is particularly rich in bumblebee species, as are native Hungarian borage species such as medical atrax, bluebell snake-grass, black needlegrass, common tadpole grass and medical lungwort. Its flowers are edible and can be a beautiful garnish for various salads.

In particular, it is home to many species of bumblebee, as it is to native Hungarian borage species. These include medical atracaela, bluebell snake-grass, black needle-grass, common tadpole-grass and medical lungwort. Its flowers are edible and can be a beautiful garnish for various salads.

Recommended application rate: 1-2g/m²

In spring, sow the borage seeds in prepared soil or pots. Sow the seeds in their permanent location, they do not take well to transplanting. Cover the seeds with soil, then water them. Keep the soil moist for the first 1-2 weeks. Flower as an annual through 8-10 weeks after sowing, it is already flowering, long flowering. Delight in the spectacle!

Sown before/when the spring bulbs flower, the annuals will have flowered by the time the spring bulbs are gone and will also cover the drying foliage of the bulbs.
