Conkoly (Agrostemma githago) 5g, ~550 seeds

875 Ft

Seed concolor(Agrostemma githago) is an old annual wildflower, once considered a weed, and most often seen in cereal fields in the past. Unfortunately, it has now become so scarce throughout Europe due to the use of herbicides that it is now protected. Its seeds are quite poisonous and used to spoil the quality of flour when mixed with it, so it had to be discarded and was disliked. It's also beautiful, pink, easy to grow and drought tolerant, and worth rediscovering and planting in our gardens.

In spring or autumn, sow the seeds in a prepared plot or pot in their final location. Cover the seeds with soil. Water them. Keep the soil moist during the first few weeks of germination. Flower by annual flowering 6-8 weeks after sowing and by autumn sowing the following year. Enjoy the spectacle!

TIP: sown before/when the spring bulbs flower, the annuals will flower just as the spring bulbs are disappearing and will cover the drying foliage of the bulbs.
