Reseda lutea (Reseda lutea) is a native Hungarian wildflower, found mainly in natural grass communities, in some places degraded to a weed. The pollinators would like to argue with the latter 🙂 In gardens, Reseda odorata, the fragrant Reseda, is more often planted, but in primeval lawns, wild reseda could also be a nice colour. In fact, it would be worth introducing it in perennial beds, as it flowers continuously from spring to autumn, so it could be the perfect lush little yellow spot of colour in our gardens.

Sow the seeds in spring or autumn in prepared soil or pots. You can also sow the seeds directly in their permanent location, but it is a good idea to grow them as seedlings to increase the germination rate. Cover the seeds thinly with soil. Sprinkle them with water. Keep the soil moist during the first few weeks of germination. If sown in early spring, they will not flower until the following year, and if sown in autumn, they will usually flower the following year.
