Poppy colour mix (Papaver rhoeas "Shirley Single Mix") 1g, ~9000 seeds

875 Ft

Who needs to be introduced to the most iconic wildflower, the reddish pearl of the wheat fields? Fortunately, wildflowers, including poppies(Papaver rhoeas), are making a comeback in gardens these days and are slowly losing their weed status, as their early flowering makes them a very important food source for many of our solitary bees. This mixed poppy colour mix consists mainly of pink flowers, but other colours may also be available. It gives a really light, soft and graceful look to the garden, a very romantic flower! Fortunately, breeding has not changed the original pollinator attraction in this case.

  • other names: poppies, stinking poppies, poppies, gooseberries, dandelion flowers, blood poppies, wild poppies
  • Latin name: Papaver rhoeas "Shirley Temple Single Mix"

Sow the seeds in early spring or autumn in prepared soil or pots (autumn germination is more successful). Sow the seeds in their permanent location, they will not bear transplanting. Do not cover the seeds with soil, they germinate in the light! Water them. Keep the soil moist for the first 1-2 weeks. Flower by annual flowering 8-10 weeks after sowing, by autumn sowing next spring/summer. Enjoy the spectacle!

TIP: sown before/when the spring bulbs flower, the annuals will flower just as the spring bulbs are disappearing and will cover the drying foliage of the bulbs.
